Sofía Isabel Vizcarra Carrillo (scholarship holder trAndeS, 2016) graduated as Doctor of Sociology from the PUCP

On August 23, Sofía Isabel Vizcarra Carrillo was awarded the degree of Doctor in Sociology by the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). Her doctoral thesis, titled: "La economía moral de la ilegalidad en la ciudad cocalera: significados y prácticas legitimadoras del narcotráfico en la ciudad de Pichari (2000-2017)", was defended successfully before a committee consisting of: Dr. Aldo Panfichi Huamán, of the PUCP (Advisor), Dr. Maritza Paredes, Dr. Omar Pereyra and Dr. Deborah Delgado, of the PUCP, and Dr. José Ghilherme Cantor Magnani, from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil (invited external committee member)
Sofia Vizcarra was at the Freie Universität Berlin as part of a research stay in November 2016, when she was preparing the aforementioned doctoral thesis as part of the trAndeS programme.
