trAndeS – Advanced Studies on Inequalities and Sustainable Development
Throughout its implementation, the trAndeS program strengthened academic cooperation between the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) and Freie Universität Berlin (FU Berlin), bringing together various teaching, research and postgraduate training initiatives focused on inequalities and sustainable development. Below, the main components of the project and the institutional achievements are presented.

1. Governance and Participating Programs
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee was responsible for strategic decision-making and quality management of the program.
Advisory Members
The program had a group of advisory members who supported and strengthened the strategic and academic development of the project.
Binational Directorates
The Binational Directorates were responsible for the operational coordination of the program between both partner institutions.
Program Offices
The program offices were in charge of administrative management and day-to-day operational support.
Participating Programs – PUCP
There were many postgraduate programs at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú that took part in the project.

2. trAndeS Community
The trAndeS community consisted of a broad and diverse network of fellows, associates, researchers and lecturers who contributed to academic development and interdisciplinary exchange on inequalities and sustainable development.

3. Academic Achievements in Figures
Throughout its implementation, trAndeS achieved significant academic results that reflected the strength of its training and research approach.

The trAndeS network was consolidated as a transnational space for academic exchange and collaboration on inequalities and sustainability. The Trans-Andean Sustainability Network was strengthened, coordinating research and teaching efforts in several countries in the region.The trAndeS Network came to include 143 researchers in 12 countries, promoting sustained academic cooperation.

This structure fostered:
- New academic collaboration initiatives, both between institutions and among research groups.
- Regional integration processes based on common research topics, with an emphasis on the challenges of the Andean region.
Within the network, research clusters were consolidated in the following areas:
- Energy transition
- Development traps
- Environmental state
- Environmental public opinion
- Inequalities and care
- Urban ecology

The program left as a legacy a virtual portal and archive that brought together training resources, academic materials and audiovisual products accessible to the public.

- Toolbox: “Gender and Diversity in Teaching”
Developed in cooperation with the Margherita-von-Brentano-Zentrum.
trAndeS Series
The program produced a variety of series and academic materials:
- Working Papers: 15 documents
- Course manuals: 21 documents
- Policy papers: 5 documents
Project Publications
Among the publications generated within the trAndeS framework were:
- Individual publications by members of the trAndeS community
- Publications produced with trAndeS support
- Publications by affiliated researchers linked to the network
The virtual archive also incorporated a wide collection of audiovisual resources:
- Introductory videos about trAndeS
- Recordings of academic and outreach events
- Materials on research and methods, as well as methodological training
- Interviews with trAndeS alumni

6. Events and Photo Documentation
Between 2016 and 2025, trAndeS organized and supported numerous academic activities, such as conferences, seminars, workshops, summer and winter schools, as well as regional network meetings.
